FOSCAMUN 2015 RESOLUTIONS

TOPIC A
The DISC Committee:
A) Emphasizing the importance of seeking a safer world for all and achieving peace in a world full of territorial disputes.
B) Reaffirming that resolving territorial disputes and regional conflicts is of the highest priority, convinced that it is the International Community’s responsibility to do so in the most diplomatic way possible.
Recalling the purpose of the UN Charter of 1945:

a) Requests the recognition of the two states of Palestine and Israel by all countries;
b) Determines the destitution of all militant terrorist groups;
c) Requests a new democratic government to be created in Palestine through democratic election;
d) Calls for the eventual removal of the barrier created by Israel on its borders and the re-establishment of the 1967 borders;
e) Urges all sides of all conflicts in question to agree to a ceasefire and to remove any military forces from the territories in question;
f) Proclaims the city of Jerusalem an International Zone to be controlled by the UN;
g) Calls for a UN supervision of 6 months in the territory of Crimea in order to maintain peace and a second referendum to be held after this period;
h) Urges the respect of the Minsk Agreements;
i) Expresses the need for measures to be taken in order to strengthen the officially recognised political institutions in the countries in question;
j) Calls for the provision of both humanitarian and non-humanitarian aid to civilians in the countries in question;
k) Determines the control by UN police of the borders of the countries affected by the disorder caused by the events of the “Arab Spring”.

TOPIC B
The DISC Committee:
A) Emphasizing the importance of seeking of a safer world for all and achieving peace and security in a world without nuclear weapons.
B) Reaffirming that effective measures of nuclear disarmament and the prevention of nuclear war have the highest priority.
C) Convinced that nuclear disarmament and the elimination of nuclear weapons in unstable territories are essential to ensure the security of the international security.
Recalling the purpose of the UN Charter of 1945 and the Chemical Weapons Convention of 1997:

a) Calls for attacks and the continuation of air strikes in order to prevent the spread of ISIS ideology;
b) Requests funds to be given to Iraq from the UN Security Council that will be managed by the UN in order to fight ISIS;
c) Declares financial embargos and sanctions on Syria and North Korea;
d) Establishes a WMD-free zone in the Middle East, specifically Iran and the Arab league;
e) Urges the infiltration and dissimilation of any black market that deal to organizations deemed to be terrorist groups by the UN;
f) Encourages the continuation and strengthening the current anti-privacy measures;
g) Urges Assad to surrender its stockpile of chemical weapons in accordance with the agreements formed by the organization of prohibition of chemical weapons, of which Syria is a member;
h) Calls for transparency and periodical control of chemical weapons in territories affected by conflicts;
i) Demands respect of the Minsk agreement, especially the second point.
